Mount Vernon Park (MVP) is guided by a dedicated team of volunteers committed to neighbors helping neighbors. From planning events and clean-ups to advocating for our community at city hall, these leaders work behind the scenes (and often on the front lines) to keep MVP growing stronger every day.
Our board and block captains aren’t part of a traditional homeowners association—they’re everyday neighbors passionate about connecting people, solving challenges, and celebrating the vibrancy of MVP. Below, you’ll meet the current board, see who represents your block, and learn how you can get involved.

Attend an Association Meeting
When: 2nd Tuesday of every month, 6:30–7:30 PM
Where: Brewer Park Pavilion (unless otherwise noted)
Why: Meet current leaders, learn about open positions, and discover the committees that need extra hands.
Volunteer & Observe
Step into a smaller role first—help at a block party or clean-up day. This is a great way to see how the leadership team works and whether you’d like to be more involved.
Nomination & Election
Official board positions are typically elected; details on the nomination process, voting, and terms are announced ahead of each election cycle.
Check our Bylaws or Meeting Minutes Archive for specifics.
Become a Block Captain
If your street doesn’t have a current captain (or if someone’s stepping down), reach out via our Contact Us page to express interest. It’s a rewarding way to know your neighbors, resolve concerns quickly, and foster unity on your block.
By giving your time and skills, you help MVP:
Organize family-friendly events that bring neighbors together.
Maintain strong communication channels (newsletters, meetings, social media).
Promote neighborhood pride—building a place where everyone feels at home.
Advocate for safety improvements, park enhancements, and city services.
Whether you serve on the board, become a block captain, or just lend a helping hand at events, your efforts fuel our neighbors helping neighbors mission.
