Membership

Welcome to the heart of Mount Vernon Park’s community support! Although we’re not a traditional homeowners association, we rely on neighbors helping neighbors to keep MVP vibrant, safe, and growing. Your annual membership dues help fund everything from block parties and park projects to after-school programs and neighborhood clean-ups.

(Note: Membership dues are not required to attend events or volunteer, but they enable us to do even more for our neighborhood.)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay dues to participate in neighborhood events?

Not at all! Everyone is welcome at MVP gatherings. Your membership simply strengthens our ability to fund and host more events.

Can I still attend Association meetings without being a paying member?

Absolutely. You can attend, share ideas, and ask questions. Only paid members, however, can vote on official decisions.

Are my dues or donations tax-deductible?

We are a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Check with your tax advisor, but typically, contributions are tax-deductible. (Annual membership fees may not be fully deductible if you receive membership benefits—please consult a tax professional.)

What if I can’t afford the $10 dues right now?

We understand. We still encourage you to join us at events and volunteer when you can. Every contribution—time, talent, or treasure—makes a difference!

How do I know my dues are being used wisely?

We post meeting minutes and financial updates (in summary form) on our website and at monthly Association meetings. Transparency is key to our neighborly spirit!
